The Fontane Library contains books that belong to the collection of the banker Paul Hermann Emden (1882-1953). (Non-book items of the collection are on permanent loan in the Fontane-Archiv in Potsdam.) The Fontane-Abend in Berlin, founded in 1927, purchased the collection and donated it to the University Library because of its 100th anniversary. The collection that consists of nearly 350 volumes includes first editions of Fontanes works as well as secondary literature about him. The Fontane-Library may be searched via the Online Catalogue of the University Librarary.
