Work cabin for the blind and visually impaired
The work cabin 0'232 is equipped with technology and software for blind and visually impaired persons. The workplace is divided into two areas, on the left for blind and on the right for visually impaired people. Furthermore, a workstation with enlarger is located on the opposite wall.
To use this cabin you can get the key at the counter. A reservation of the cabin is not necessary at the moment. In case of special requirements, however, it is recommended to make an inquiry in advance.
The work cabin is equipped with a telephone for direct calls to the counter.
If you have any questions regarding technology, please contact the staff of the University Library's IT Department (phone: +49 30 2093-99354) or send an e-mail to ub.it-support@ub.hu-berlin.de.
Height-adjustable desks
In the lowered reading room of the Science Branch Library you will find two height-adjustable desks, which are also equipped with computers. You can reach the workstations directly via a ramp leading into the reading room.
The desks can be adjusted to heights between 74 and 120 cm by a small switch on the worktop.
Furthermore, one of the self loan machines is height-adjustable.
Other raised workplaces, which are not height-adjustable, are provided by the balustrade above the reading room.
