Subject Holdings in the Law Branch Library

Current literature relevant for teaching and research can be found in the Law Branch Library.

The bookstock is shelved systematically according to the Regensburg Library Classification Scheme (RVK). Call numbers start with the letter combinations PA-PZ.

On the 2nd floor (2. OG), there is literature on Civil Law and Civil Procedure Law (call numbers starting with PD and PG, respectively), on Labour Law (call numbers starting with PF), on Commercial and Corporate Law (call numbers starting with PE) and general topics (call numbers starting with PA-PC).

On the 3rd floor (3. OG), you will find the holdings on Public Law (call numbers starting with PL and PN, respectively) and on Criminal Law (call numbers starting with PH).

Please note that not all works are borrowable. Current publications which cannot be borrowed are marked with a yellow non-lending label (“Präsenz”).

Older, bound journals can be found among the stocks of the respective subject field.

Contemporary journal issues of the current year are located in the large Reading Room on the 2nd floor (2. OG). Journals are generally not borrowable, but many are available online.

A floor plan displayed at the Branch Library’s service counter and in the staircases will help you locate the individual subject fields.

 

Holdings in Law at the Jacob-und-Wilhelm-Grimm-Zentrum

The Jacob-und-Wilhelm-Grimm-Zentrum houses the textbook collection (EG, Area A) with multiple copies of basic textbooks and commentaries. This literature can be borrowed by faculty members and students of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

 

Older stocks on Legal History (c. 18th century – 1950) are shelved according to a specific local classification scheme and kept in the closed stacks of the University Library.
