Mathematical monographs and periodicals are located at the Erwin-Schrödinger-Zentrum. They are generally shelved according to the Regensburg Classification Scheme (RVK). The call numbers start with the letter combinations SA (Journals) to SM (Teaching Methodology of Mathematics).
The holdings in particular:
Open Access Shelving (EG): The area on the ground floor that is marked red contains the main holdings of Mathematics (SA-SM). Following these books there are also theses shelved here (habilitations, dissertations, etc). The holdings on Teaching Methodology are shelved in Area D (marked orange).
Textbook Collection: Here you can find multiple copies of important introductory works and textbooks. These books can only be borrowed by members of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. As a rule, each book in the textbook collection has one copy for reference only and at least one circulating copy on the open shelves.
Open Access Magazine: In the open access magazine, older congress reports are stored according to an old classification scheme. The call numbers begin with the letter “K” and the abbreviation of the country of the congress. These holdings are regularly for issue.
Magazine: The magazine stores old stock which has not been relabelled according to the RVK. However, they can be borrowed via Primus.
Rara-Magazine: The Rara-Magazine holds works which are especially valuable or worthy of protection. This pertains to dissertations and habilitations stored as archive copies as well as rare or special singletons and the Kronecker Collection. These holdings can only be accessed at the Rara Reading place; their reproduction is only possible as an ordered copy for a fee.
